IN-SYSTEM
If an item is checked out, or not owned by the Aurora Public Library, we will see if it is available from within the Arrowhead Library System. If it is, we will request it for you. Items that are checked in at public library usually arrive within 5-10 days; items at school or special libraries may take slightly longer. Let library staff know if you are interested in learning how to place requests for items from within the Arrowhead Library System yourself.
IN-STATE
If an items is not available within the Arrowhead Library System, we will see if it is available through MnLINK, the state-wide interlibrary loan system. Items requested from MnLINK usually arrive within 2-4 weeks. Let library staff know if you are interested in learning how to place requests from MnLINK yourself. There is a limit of 10 active MnLINK requests at a time.
NATIONALLY
If an item is not available within Minnesota, we will see if it is available nationally. These items also usually arrive within 2-4 weeks.
ITEMS NOT AVAILABLE
Items published within the last year, especially best-selling or highly popular items, are usually too new to be available through MnLINK or nationally. Popular items published within the past 3 months may also be too new to be requested from within the Arrowhead Library System. Some older items and non-traditional-format items may not be obtainable--but we are always willing to try to obtain them for you to borrow!
